Warm salt water swished around the area of the sore tooth will help with the pain. Just dissolve enough salt in warm water so that the water tastes real salty and swish it around in your mouth several times a day. It won't cure anything, but it will help relieve the paint a little. You could also swish hydrogen peroxide around the tooth 2 or 3 times a day, then rinse with warm water. Neither one of these remedies tastes good, but it will help with the pain and help keep you comfortable.

The truth is you should put some fresh sage in your mouth. (NOT DRIED). It is a natural desensitizer as is fresh mint though not as potent. The best thing is put a wet mint tea bag on your tooth and let it set there for 15 minutes. For an abcessed tooth, rub the area with a fresh garlic clove cut in half, and eat 1 or 2 fresh cloves of garlic daily. For the future to avoid tooth decay use alfalfa, burdock, dandelion, and violet in your diet to have a free and easy smile.

Liquid Anbesol is your best bet. You can get it at any drug store and it's the same strength as the stuff the dentist uses. Just dip a cotton swab in and put it between your cheek and the tooth for 5 minutes. Also, start brushing your teeth with Sensodyne brand tooth paste and stay away from extremely hot or cold liquids for now.

I blew a nerve around noon on Sunday and couldn't get to the dentist til Tuesday. I know ICE will numb a nerve. I made friends with my blender. I ate 50 pop ice popcicles and drank 10 trays of ice. I put water to the water line and ice to the food line on my smoothie machine and lived off "ICE SMOOTHIES" all day. Get you a 16 pound bag of ice so you don't have to make ice at all. Good luck. Call the dentist again in the morning. He may call you if you call his answering service tonight. Try it. Ask how many pain pills you can take without taking too many.
