Yes are both possible (if you are married with her) but it takes time. the first thing the resident permit and later a work permit. Usually sometimes you don't have to be married but you have to probe that you will get marry in a period of time (60 day in US). If you are not married in this time you probably will have a lot of problems with Immigration Service. My recommendation if you want to work and you don't want problems with immigration the safest way is Student visa. You go there take some classes, and maybe you will be able to have a job on the school. Look for more info in the immigration web site of your girlfriend's country. I know all this because my wife and me are from different nationalities. good luck.

Apply for a resident visa to live in the country of your girlfriend. If you want to work. apply for a work permit.

i think if you legally married to your girlfriend, then you can easily apply for resident permit..

applying a work permit is a different thing, it depends on which regulation the country has.. many countries don't allow work permit to be issued if you haven't get your employer sponsor you..

i wish we're living in borderless world...

me and my girlfriend have different nationalities and live 10,000km apart.. *sigh*

This obviously depends on the other country, but in general you only get residential priviledges if you are married, are an investor, or a retiree. One additional channel is if you have a highly technical job skill and can get a company to sponsor you.

Good luck!

Depends. Different countries have different regulations. In Thailand for instance, foriegners can't purchase property by thier own names. So buying a house is not possible unless they become citizens.

All you need is a visa if you wanna stay with her.

No, you have to be married before you are considered for residency.
