I am looking for someone in the NC DOC I know they have been convicted but I can not for the life of me find out where they are, it was a federal crime and I have search the federal prison site. Final sentencing was in late October and I would have thought by now they would be in the system. This is a really good friend of mine that I haven't spoken to for a few years now and I have just found out recently that he got himself into this trouble, would really like to be there with letters during this time if someone could help me I would really appreciate it. Thank you.

Inmate information is not available online. You have to go to the prison personally to know if your friend is really there.

On the Federal Bureau of Prisons web site. There is an inmate locator link. Also on most,if not all state DOC sites too. If you can't find him on those sites. He could be still in a county lock-up awaiting transport to a federal or state prison. You will not be able to look him up at county jail site due to the fact that these sites do not list there prisoners. Because until you are convicted they might be found innocent and and their reputation could be ruined by others just knowing they had been in jail at all. In the mean time if you know what county he was convicted in. You might call it's jail and maybe find out his current status.

I am from Texas but this normally works in every state. Find the number to the state parol office. They will be able to help you find a number to call. Make sure u have his DOC Number as this will be very helpful.... oh and his DOB and Name. They should have federal listings as well. Find the Department of Corrections main web site then call them early tomorrow morning. They can help you with federal prisons.

If they're doing Fed time, try PACER, or you can try BOP. I think they're just ".com"s. Publicdata is always going to be your best resource. Or you could try just calling the local Fed facilities to see where they may have been sent. It could be anywhere, and hopefully your buddy's out in population. Best of luck.

Call your local representative and ask them, they need to do something besides play golf anyway.
