British SAS in my opinion. They have a very long history fighting terrorism and small scale warfare. Think IRA. US special forces lag behind the SAS and even Russian Spetsnaz in terms of experience. US special forces may have better gear, but nothing can compete with experience.

Not much is known about the PLA special forces, dodo or something like that, in China. Given the militant response China imposes on its citizens, they probably excel in police action and some dirtier work.

Every Army in the world has a specialized unit, so declaring the best is really impossible. I think the SAS is best at handling the widest range of conflict. We will probably never know the answer to this question as the best special forces operation is never known to the public.

US Marine recons Navy seals British sas Russian spretnaz were pretty darn good but since the fall over there ? usually your best units are small and selected from larger groups and tend to be all volunteer from countries that can afford large standing military forces with good training and let us not forget they french legion estrange ( sorry if I am far off the spelling I am not french after all ) there are some small private outfits that are extremely effective as well and mercs are not all that bad because they are professional highly trained and aware they walk a thin line so are unlikely to violate their contract or the laws of war

I have known and worked with a few US Navy SEALS over the years so my opinion is a bit biased, but I really do believe the SEALs are the top of the bunch. The British have a very tough bunch of guys as well as the German special forces. They are awesome when their services are used in the right way.

That kinda stuff should be kinda secretive. hehehe.

I guess Navy Seals or the likes are the most professional special forces in the world. There are various special task forces in other militaries around the world.

Id say one of the asian militarys.
Probably China or Korea.
They have hands down the best hand to hand combat training, and physical conditioning. I know the north korean army is mixing high flying martial arts and gymnastic moves into gun fighting.
Look on youtube... these guys are doing flips high up spinning around shooting lots of times and hitting the targets... they would be hard to hit in a shoot out. As far as concealment... who knows... China does have a great sub... world class..
navy.. The U.S. Ground forces.... who knows...
Marines and Rangers are tough, and im sure lots of other guys are tough.. but then again.. aside from gun play.. we have to go back to physical fitness, and living off the land, so id hand it to the asians... Gun play.. thats hard..
