Everytime I'm around him, he practically ignores me and if I happen to be in a group of people that he is talking to, he talks to everyone BUT me.
When we pass by one another, I think I remember him saying hello one time
I've always believed that when a guy doesn't approach you, it means he is not interested in you---Correct????
I also personally feel that in "Romance", staring and even smiling doesnt have much weight, because the meanings can be so ambiguous.
I need help understanding what signs yield what interpretations.

OK! Listen deer. I have the same experience and the moment I am typing I am still feeling it. Tell you what, there is a girl I know. But we have a number of social differences. Still I like her very much and probably in love with her.
If you are really interested on this guy, I suggest you should go and give it a start. Do not go and ask whether he love you or not. Just start a normal conversation and let him know that you are an easy going and fond of him. If he is really interested in you, then he will not drop the conversation until you do.
The reason why he is ignoring may be that he does not want others to know that he is interested on you. In case of refusal, he will have to face all who know it. I know it since I have the same feelings. I also tried once to say hello but I realized that it may be too much to do as a start. All I have to say is give him the green signal, then he will do the rest for you. I am also waiting for this signal from her.

He obviously has interest in you if he stares and smiles at you. I'm going to place my bets on him being shy. I know I was like this, but every time my love confronted me I would spill my heart out. Try starting the conversations between you two and see. If the conversations aren't too great, either he is REALLY shy or has little interest in you.

March yourself over to him & just ask him! Also if you feel staring & smiling at the love of your life is not " Romance" well everyone has their own idea what romance is , good luck.

maybe he is shy...maybe he does like u and just doesn't know how to approach u...take the incitive and just go up to him compliment him on what he is wearing or his smile or somethin and just talk to him...at least then u can tell if he is interested or not...and maybe he ignores u because he doesn't trust what he is feeling...its iffy on this but just try saying hi to him carry on a convo and see what happens...good luck!

Every guy and every girl in this world is unique. you need to find out what he really feels and go from there. Sit and talk to him. See what he's all about. Ask around. Then after all that, make your decision.

Go up to him when he is by himself and ask him straight up. he would love it. He might be a little shy. If you like him go for it. Guys love upfront girls. If he is looking at you and smiling he obviously likes you. If he didnt like you he wouldnt pay you any attention.

ok just a guess but maybe he ignores you close up becauseyour always staring at him and making him uncomfterble and thats why he smiles from afar because maybe he thinkgs it will make you stop.

HE'S SHY!!!! maybe you should try and say hello yourself i swear it does work. the more you open up arpund him the more he'll open up with you. he did manage to say hi to you.

maybe youse have skin problems, crooked smile, nose that he can't s see from fars away. that is whys he smiles from far??
