how to motivate my IX std boy get good grade?

I am in the IXth standard too. I am an Indian girl. My father just lets me do whatever I want.But if the grades go down,he doesnt have to say anything:I get a fillip to work hard.

Use the carrot method. Reward him for a job well done. This does not mean money but maybe positive options like, a nice notebook, a new book, etc.

don't accept anything less, that's what my parents did, punish him if he doesn't get a C+ or better, one of my friends got paid for good grades.
