Everyone knows that people in the midwest and south are more religious. Why do you think that is?

Also, for kicks and giggles you might as well specify what your faith (or lack there of) is, and where you live. I live in Boulder Colorado and I'm an atheist.

To answer your question, you need to look at who settled what areas. The country started on the east coast and spread west as land grants. These were the people who came to the US seeking relgious freedom. However, in the case of California and Vegas, these were started by people after... we'll go with money. Maybe Colorado was just started by people looking for magic mushrooms, and that's why you're atheist? :)

Not sure why the correlation....although it is certain that we are all influenced to some extent by our environment and the culture around us. But God can reach anyone, anywhere, anytime!

I am from the deep South and I was raised Southern Baptist. However, despite my rearings, I am a vague theist.
