I just purchased a used computer for my parents for Christmas. I looked at several on EBAY and could have sworn the one I finally decided on said it had windows 98, but it doesnt. It has Windows NT pro. I know about 95,98,XP etc..but nothing about Windows NT pro. I don't even know what NT means. Can someone tell me a little about it. I hope it isn't much different than XP or 2000 etc...So that when they (parents) call me with a question on how to do something I can help them....

I have the windows XP upgrade (from 98,2000 etc. to XP) but NT isn't meantioned on the side of the box so I don't guess I'll be upgrading to XP.

Yes! windows NT was also less known early version of Microsoft Win. NT mean New Technology of microsoft. That was comes in life when microsoft sets himself to use NTFS file system in his future project. It is better than 98 but it was the first os from MS that uses NFTS technology (look ur C drive formatted in NTFS format) so. XP is Much better than it and lot more stable, i recommend u to install or upgrade it to XP.
