Because although I love God I am for the moment in an earthen vessel.Although I do appreciate your question, and believe that is what we should strive for.

No. My life is an expression of love for myself and others but not for a god.

Because I don't believe in this God person/thing.
Or:
Because my life is an expression of my love for myself.

Not everyone believes in God, not everyone thinks that they are on this earth because of some supreme God. If someone gave me irrefutable proof that God does exist that I'll express love for him.

This is one of the dumbest questions I have seen on Yahoo Answers. I don't know even if a God exists. Why should I "love" the guy? I'm not egotistical enough to think that my life is a big deal.

My life is an expression of my love for the Mother Goddess, all of nature and my family. Thank you for the reminder though.

Psalm 100. We are God's, not the other way around.
God is spirit (wind). God is love. I failed to see where any of us is love.
"This is what the lord asks of you; only this, to act justly, to love tenderly, and to walk humbly with your God." Micah 6:8
I would like to see what biblical verses you are paraphrasing. Because your question do not make any biblical sense.

Why should it be? Why should God *need* to be loved? If he is so powerful and rules everything... then what else does he need? A bunch of ants, humans, on an insignificant planet in the Universe bowing and praying to him? I think he has a few more things to occupy himself with... like deciding when a star should supernova and become a black hole... stuff like that...

If your life is not an expression of your love for the Flying Spaghetti Monster...
WHY ISN'T IT?

God is a drug - just like heroin. When Pentecostals clap their hands and sing songs about Jesus in a communal frenzy, their brains are releasing lots of endorphins. Christians are addicted to this chemical reaction in their bloodstreams when they think about, praise and worship God.
I don't love God because I don't like drugs, either.
