Actually, I am not offended by the lyrics as much as I am more embarrassed by the fact that they reflect too much of the truth.
Many who call themselves Christian, myself included, lead lives that are far from holy and definitely not perfect... not that perfection is something that anyone can attain. We have been called to be a light and salt unto the world, but we have lost our shine and glimmer and our saltiness. We as a group have failed our calling... we deserved to be ridiculed, to be scorned, to be tossed out to be trampled by men... at least then we can say that we are living like Christ.
Thank you for the reminder that we are all imperfect, and that being "Christian" by name is nothing. If going to church, carrying a bible, singing gospel songs, and feeling good about ourselves is all that Christianity has become, then we are just lying to ourselves and to the world.

Why is that offensive? it's about hypocrites. maybe it says that all christians are hypocrites, even those who don't have hyundais. but that's an old guilt ridden arguement so someone can safely reject what they know to be true by saying "All christians are bad, and I don't want to be bad." Silly stuff like this exists everywhere.

I'm more offended by the people the lyrics describe than the lyrics themselves. Hypocrisy -- religious or otherwise -- is nothing new.

Not really.
There is alot of hypocrisy out there.
That is why religion gets a bad name.
Keep in mind though, everyone sins be they a christian, Jew, muslim, atheist, agnostic, etc.....
I try not to sin, but still sin. God looks at the heart though. If someone tries their best, that is what matters. Thank God for the blood of Christ to wash away our sin.

We have been around this bush before, first Black Athiest, then Harsh Truth - (which I assume is you dropping the Harsh part)
Not me, I aren't offended...
I live a real Christian life... That is accountable, that is loving, that is true, that is pure, that is stable...

yes, I'm offended.
But the lyrics are, sadly, often true for professing Christians.
