Again, I am a Christian and am not attacking anyone. Just would like for you to consider this paraphrased twist on a scripture: "Since my people, who are called by by name, has not sought my face and not humbled themselves and prayed, I will not hear their prayers and WILL curse their land." Dont' you think its time we quit blameing the devil and sin, and take a look in the mirror?

I do not believe that God has turned his back on America but i have to admit I think he is letting us suffer the consequences of our actions. I mean, Look at us. we have taken prayer out of schools for one, granted I don't think it should be mandatory but it should be an option. Also we are also taking the ten commandments out of the court houses, there are those who would like to take "In God We Trust" off our money. I could go on and on. Don't get me wrong I am no Saint but we are turning our back on God as a country so he has no choice but let us "reap what we sow"

For Kathryn, it's not about blaming. It's about taking responsibility, and I think we all should be looking into the mirror. I'm a Christian, but nowadays I don't much like to talk about it. I believe the Christian right is so blindly focused on one or two social issues (abortion and gay marriage) that they can't see that they're fighting a losing battle on that front. The don't see the more important issues that Jesus spent a lot of time preaching about. Like taking care of the poor, curing disease, and listening to the wisdom of children among others. And as long as some politician says what they want to hear, they follow blindly.

And then there are those who for some reason are afraid to speak up and say that the emperor has no clothes. Or the Democrats who are furiously trying to back pedal and rationalize their reasons for voting for the war.

We're ALL responsible. And now it's time to do a little pennance, then go about the work of remembering how to be nice to each other, doing some serious introspection, and the courage of our convictions.

If you are referring to the moral decline in America, I would have to say that is more the fault of the secular progressives. Take a look at pop culture, the porn industry, the universities and the crap they teach.
This is not the christian agenda. It is the secularist agenda.

This is a huge reason of why the Muslims hate us. You wouldn't push this stuff in their countries or you'd wind up dead pretty quick.

That's the irony of the left in this country being so pro-muslim. If the Muslims ever took over the US the left wing would be the first ones to go. The women's libbers would get a birka slapped on them and the first time they spoke up about anything they'd get slapped by the closest Immam

I will stand up and say yes because if we were things would not be such a mess right now. If we were truly taking care of God's people and living like Christ the world would be better, but allot of us think all we need to do is read the bible, go to church on Sat. or Sun., tell people they are going to hell, and on top of all that bible reading only pick the things we like and live by them.

So yes I agree and I take my part in the blame I have not done anything in the last 6 months to feed physically or spiritually God's people.

I am not familiar with that passage of scripture. I have read, "If my people who are called by name will humble themselves and pray and seek my face..............I am sure you are familiar with the scripture. Why else would have quoted it so magnificently in reverse. This scripture was quoted to God's people in the Old Testament as a measuring stick to them. If we all do what is right and good, we will be blessed above measure. MayGod Bless

Hooray!!! Your suggestion is heartwarming to me. I am not American but have been subject to the enormous weight brought to bear on this world we all share, by the very attitude you are pointing toward. Responsibility is something we must all face sooner or later - our ability to respond to life, which is nothing but the absolute servant of Spirit, the voice of God. This is the time for America to wake up to itself and see itself in the context of the world, not as the epicenter of it, not as the best compared to the rest, but as equal before God, with all humanity. the best AND WORST of this world can be found thriving in your fine nation - deal with that, and you will be better equipped to take responsibility for what lands on your shores.

Do you wish to misquote an other verses? Next time, please tell us where the quote comes from.

The current state of America is not a "Christian" but all of us. As for the word "woe", are you in the same country as I am?

I agree that people are at fault for the woes of our country, but I also think Satan and his assistants have a little hand in it. He can only influence us as far as we allow him in, and it looks like there are a LOT of people today that are throwing their doors wide open.

Absolutely. We've allowed prayers to be taken out of schools. We see the chaos, violence and death that has caused. We, as a nation, are considering taking "God" off of our money and out of our pledge of allegiance.

Many people may or may not know this but Wal Mart was considering backing gay and lesbian groups. They received so many petitions signed by Christians promising to quit shopping there if they did and so many employees threatened to quit that they have withdrawn their support to these groups.

WE CAN MAKE A DIFFERENCE IF WE PRAY & BELIEVE TOGETHER!
