Honestly, what did you expect? Nobody here knows you, and I think it's reasonable whenever anyone asks for something to assume it's some sort of a scam. Why else would someone turn to strangers for a handout instead of friends or family? If a bunch of strangers you only know by the ridiculous names they've made up and the even more ridiculous cartoon likenesses they've chosen have the power to make you feel hurt and disappointed, I think you need to reconsider how seriously you take this website.

You need to set your expectations a little more appropriately. You shouldn't ever expect to be treated as anything other than a scammer when you solicit a huge audience of strangers and attempt to get something very valuable from them!

If your story is really true, then #1 talk to your boyfriend's employer; if he was there for work when he got hurt, they might be willing to work with you on transportation to go see him #2 talk IN PERSON to local charities that might be able to help you connect with donors.

Asking for donations in person instead of anonymously, on the Internet, will go a long way towards establishing your credibility.

I didn't read you're original question, but it appears you were seeking airline miles. FYI, they aren't transferable anyway, so even if one of us "losers" had offered you some, you would still be SOL.

Furthermore, if your fiance wants to see you, he'll find a way to get to you. Don't be so easy.

Asking complete strangers for contributions? What do you expect to happen?

And I just thought it was 25K miles you were asking for. Instead, you were really asking for for 70K miles for a trip from the US to Africa, which is worth a couple thousand dollars. Just exactly what were you expecting to happen when you asked?
