Satanist practitioners think that Satanism grants them true wisdom and power comparable to God's. When in fact, the real essence of Satanism is darkness that no human being can survive with once they get the feel of it. Of course if Satanism wants to recruit new followers, it'll be wise for it to promote wisdom and power that are out of this world, spreading the delusion that Satanism is an alternative to God. If everyone knows it is nothing but darkness, no one will ever join it.
What darkness? Which darkness? It's NOT the darkness where the followers obtain dark powers, because only Satan possesses dark powers and he's not going to teach any of these dark powers to puny humans. Instead, the true darkness is when we entered a state of extreme depression, desperation, hopelessness, etc so much so that we finally distort ourselves into believing good as evil and evil as good. Now this is the exact gateway to the real world of hell. And we'll lose our soul by the way.
Remember Aleister Crowley? He was a great Satanist but he died perplexed. Even he himself failed to comprehend the complete wisdom of "Do what you will". Self-worship? Huh. A blind who worship himself will continue to be blind. A fool who worship himself will continue to be a fool.

LaVeyan or atheistic Satanism is precisely that. non secular human beings are taught that that's incorrect so for sure they're closed-minded about it. Myself, i'm a theistic Satanist so i believe devil absolutely exists and is a valuable pal whom I "worship", yet in the different case it quantities to a similar element. it really is an outstanding direction to stay with and that i love it! If no longer something else, the experience of connection and brotherhood with different Satanists is like no longer something I ever experienced as a Christian.

Christian Satanism: Lack of believe in god and worshiping the devil.
Atheist satnaism: The believe there are no gods and that you act out your pleasures for own will
Common satanism:- Dressing up in black clothes, dancing around gravestones on a sunday night with a virgin or two thrown in to praise a fellow with big red flaming horns.

Satan represents indulgence instead of abstinence!
Satan represents vital existence instead of spiritual pipe dreams!
Satan represents undefiled wisdom instead of hypocritical self-deceit!
Satan represents kindness to those who deserve it, instead of love wasted on ingrates!
Satan represents vengeance instead of turning the other cheek!
Satan represents responsibility to the responsible instead of concern for psychic vampires!
Satan represents man as just another animal, sometimes better, more often worse than those that walk on all-fours, who, because of his “divine spiritual and intellectual development,” has become the most vicious animal of all!
Satan represents all of the so-called sins, as they all lead to physical, mental, or emotional gratification!
Satan has been the best friend the Church has ever had, as it has kept it in business all these years!

I belief system rooted in self indulgence and gratification. For the most part, the Church of Satan's doctrine is strictly atheistic.

Well for the Satanists I know...they don't worship the devil...most of them don't believe in the devil or god. It is wisdom through the flesh. Some of it's doctrines remind me of secular humanism a bit.

It is a religion and basically they worship their self. They don't believe in putting anyone higher then their self. They do NOT worship the devil like most think they do.

Satanism is the worship of satan as lord.
It is usually accompanied, by having to go everywhere in twos
Generally has naked meetings, and sleeping with the head satanist is almost mandatory.
Satanism is playing with spirits who don't care anything for you, who just cant wait to see you destroyed (I hope that reads as dramatically as those games that say "DESTROYED")
