Carbon Dioxide is of great concern as greenhouse gas as it is being emitted at increasing levels. By burning fossil fuels a by - product is carbon dioxide. This gas goes into the atmosphere and lets energy in buy reflects it back down to the ground as it tries to excape. Greenhouse gases act like a green house they let the sunlights heat energy in and reflect it back down in to keep the plants warm. Same thing just much larger scale. Its interesting to point out that this is an important and abundant greenhouse gas buth methane is also a greenhouse has and is 21 times more effective than carbon dioxide as a green house gas.

it is because CO2 is the most common gas that is emitted...in the first place, CO2 is the gas emitted by cars...and cars are almost everywhere...Simply, CO2 is the most commonly emitted gas and therefore, it is the most abundant gas in the air compared to other greenhouse gases...:)

Actually, the most abundant greenhouse gas is... water vapor!

That's why this whole global warming hype is just absurd.
