Hi! I would like to find out more about the Kosher diet. Is it based strictly on food laws derived from the Old Testament or Torah? Or has the strict Kosher diet had other rules and regulations added to it?

If someone followed this diet, would they gain or lose weight? Overall, how healthy is it in terms of cholesterol, fat intake, salt, preservatives, etc. Is there a website which outlines what is considered acceptable foods to eat on this diet?

Thank you in advance for these answers.

As far as I am aware, the Kosher diet is based strictly on the Torah. However, I think only Orthodox Jews follow this to a tea. I think that over the years some things have been added to it, but I'm not really sure.

It has nothing at all to do with weight gain or loss. It is simply rules for what is allowed and not allowed to eat. There are skinny, fat, and fit jews.
If you want to lose weight, speak to your doctor -- not your rabbi!

G-d would not give us something unhealthy! Remember, He GAVE this to us! When has He ever given bad gifts??

I base mine on the Bible, not on Jewish laws, which add alot to it.
This makes sense as well, I am Christian. I love the Jews but I am not one.

Email me if you want more on this

Blessings
