I like it, and I hate it. It has nice rhythm to it. I like John Lennon's music, but what he talks about...its just weird. Like 'Imagine there's no heaven, and no religion too.' If that stuff didn't exist, I think that living would be pointless.

I think that it is a good song, meaning I like it, I do think he was a dreamer though. We would not survive without religion, many people behave (control themselves) because they are afraid of a pit of hell fire. If they knew this was it, everyone inclined to would rape, kill, and burn anything they had a inkling to. If not then we would have to live in a militaristic universe.
I do often think the would would have been a much better one if all the members of the Beatles were alive today, they were smart peaceful and had enough power to make a diffrence.

i think lennon was making a point on the evils and corruption that have been caused as a result of organised religion rather then inferring that God shouldn't exist

According to Richard Dawkins' God Delusion book, there have been cases where some radio stations actually dubbed over "and no religion" with "and one religion".
Appalling.

They think it's impossible. The "my religion is better than yours" mentality keeps the world from peace. God shakes his head at the atrocities done in His name.

I think that when He died he probably wished he HAD imagined there was a Heaven.
I think it was just one more of his attempts to remove the need of God in our lives. He did proclaim to be more powerful than Jesus Christ.
btw, you do remember what happened to John Lennon, right?
