By the way we are engaged. And he did it when we had a fight.

After talking it out with him, if he is really sorry and you have the ability to put it to rest you move forward. If you continue to hold onto it, think you will punish him the rest of your life then you are doomed and stop the plans of marriage. Whether you were in a fight or not, if it was wrong acknowledge that and do not make excuses for the cause. Communication is the answer and allowing time to heal.

Two words: MOVE ON. Sounds like he put his hands on you. Not much of a man to hit a woman. God didn't make us to be hit on. You deserve better. If he's done it once, he'll do it again. Take it from someone that's been through it. Doesn't matter if you are engaged. Thank God you're not married to the guy. Get out while you can. Hope you don't have kids with him. But even if you did----press on honey. Love can't be that good if he's hitting on you. That's totally up to you. If it's not right and your feeling it's not right - follow your gut. You got family? They're there for a reason girl. Got God? If you don't, hurry girl - it's not too late. I sure wish you luck. I'll pray for you too.

If he is worth it keep him cause any man you love will hurt you thats just the way loves goes. On the other hand if he not worth it let his @$$ go and thank God it only been 4 years and not 4 years and a day and thank God you didnt marry him.

Is this something that kind of is similar to other hurts (but they were smaller)? That is, is this one just something that kind of escalated? Maybe the next fight will be worse.

If it's a one time thing and he has apologized, you need to think about what it would take you to stop feeling hurt. Time? Him doing something? Go after that.

Tell him not to go so deep. LOL
Sorry...
Very important is to communicate. If you hold in something that bothers you, it will only add itself to another problem and cause a fight later.

you either work it out and move on or you dont. really just that simple. after all you arent married yet, wait until something like this happens and you are married and the only way out is divorce!

That really depends on what he did, and how badly he hurt you. If he cheated on you, then move on! Anything else, and you might want to work it out. You really need to be more clear as to what he did to you.
