Vedanta deals with immortality of soul and the whole Universe as one Consciousness of which the human souls inter alia are its particles. Monism is inherent in the aforesaid theme and the unity of mankind which has a common source and hence, common ingredients form the core of the Vedantic thought.

Scientology does not appear to be even close to these mind boggling ideas which is obviously beyond the comprehension of the western people who are basically after material pleasure including sex.

Scientology has a only tangential connections with Hinduism. Hubbard seems to have borrowed concepts liberally from many sources -- science, pseudo-science and religion -- in constructing his belief system. He did pick up on karma and reincarnation, but "unity of mankind" and "monism" don't appear to have been carried into Scientology.

I would suggest that you try the REAL deal with some time spent at a Benedictine monastery that follows a set of rules and laws that are tried and true over hundreds and hundreds of years and are common to any genuine spiritual quest and one that engages one to be truly "clear" without costing you one cent... "pray and work".

Find out what real spiritual life is like.

Buddhist do the same thing, also thousand of years of tried and true methods of self-realization if God is not your thing.

And if you want further, try Zen.

Btw, during my entire 5yrs I never paid, nor was I asked for one single cent.

All that was asked was service... that's common in all true paths.

Psychiatry have never proven that any "mental illnesses" (like they call it) has any connection with a physical illness. Any Neurologist will tell you there are no medical test to identify a "mental illness". All Psychiatrists base their diagnosis on opinion and opinion alone.

Happiness, exhilaration, depression and psychosis are states of mind, not diseases. All what you have to do to stop being depress is change your state of mind. How you do that? By changing your ideas and considerations. Scientology provides the tools to achieve a better state of mind in accordance with your own point of view.
Also Psychiatrist excuse the most horrendous crimes as mental illnesses. This is actually creates a sense of irresponsibility in society because it tells people that they are not responsible for their actions.
