I've had several incidents where I've heard people being called a "jew" as being a bad name or something, but I've yet to get to know one, but then I go to some sights and find out they are good in hiding that they are jews, but I'm thinking"where the hell did you get that, becuase that means you dont' know my religion unless I said it out loud" I dont' think Jews are a race. it's a religion. I've yet to imagine why everybody hates Jews, I've heard all the stereotypes but I've yet to witness them, unless I've had a Jew Landlord that I've come across, or a store owner, well, that never happened, maybe I was just too young, but I've yet to see one own a store. now banks, I've yet to see a Jew banker or a Lawyer to represent me. but then again, I dont' commit crimes so I dont' need one, right? so what's the big deal with the Jews, and I don't want to hear anything about jews, because I'll hear some subjective nonsense, and i just want to hear the stereotypes, the ones you've heard about

and I'm not against Jews, but I keep hearing all this Jew this and Jew that, I've seen all the propoganda tapes so I'm just curious, I've had alot of responses so it makes me think that maybe everybod is right, but then again, I've yet to meet one. what I don't get is why I always see a Jew that is all good on TV but then I see everybody else killing mofos left and right, they are the drug-fiends or the dealers, mass murderers. not one Jew I've ever seen as a bad person on TV(I've yet to watch TV as of Late so forgive me). I am not against them, but I do see alot of roles that Jews do not portray. I've discovered that they own the media, but Mel Gibson's movie was raved upon. I think if they can protest against christians or non-jews like they always do, then everybody else can be against them, but that's an observation. I do see how they get hyped up over stuff that people bring over on them like their over sensitive or something. I dont' know, maybe they are too sensitive.

see what kills me is I've been reading and I'm not ignorant because I do read, and I have read, but then who am I to judge, Columbus took us for a ride himself, so should I hate italians, right? anyways, I dont' know, I just thought this would be a fun button pusher, and I got my results withing minutes, cool. I'm king in this game. LOL I'm just kidding, but this Jew thing does get me curious, although the ones that keep responding with all those love grey faces are fascinating, I'm showing my face and I'm not semite, but then I'm not Jewish, so does that make me a anti-semit. I do not think that whatever Mel Gibson was crazy, because that could've been a jew talking about Christians, and the christians wouldn't bat an eye on it. Michael Richards, now that one there is different, that's race, right there. although I love Kramer, I can't mess with Richard's no more, as a matter of fact, my Seindfield DVDs will be on Ebay for $1 a pop, everyone of them.

It was a common belief of Aristotle that making a profit was evil. This idea was adapted by Medieval Europe (which was ruled by the Catholic Church). Economics in the middle ages were considered a "zero sum game", in other words, one could only make a profit at the expense of another.
While this is certainly untrue, it was the ideal of the time. As you probably know, if there is no profit in an economy, there is no growth. There's reason why this was considered the dark ages.....no growth.
The Church realized that SOMEONE had to peddle goods, or the economy would be worse than it already was. Since making a profit was evil, why not let the people that the Christians had deemed "hell bound", the Jews, make a profit?
Therein lies the twisted logic. "Profits" became equated with "evil", which in medieval times became equated with Jews.
That's why much of Europe is still anti-Semitic, and much of the West still sees wealthy people as evil, despite their charity.

Regardless of what people say, it has nothing to do with the fact that the Jews killed Jesus or whatever. It's much more silly than that.
Christianity and Islam are evangelical religions. They cater to the masses, and try to get as many people to follow their ways as possible. There's nothing wrong with that, both believe that their way is the way to salvation, and want other people to experiance salvation with them. They also want to glorify God, which again, not a problem.
Judaism, on the other hand, is not evangelical. It's difficult to convert to Judaism, and most of the time it's handed down from generation to generation. This is also not a problem, it creates a folky feeling, and breeds an amazing, independent culture, however, the exclusivity is scary. Judaism can seem like a secret society, with it's own language (Hebrew) it's own customs that no one really understands, like putting a torah scroll in every doorway, and it has a lot of laws that set it apart. You can tell an Orthodox Jew by looking at them, because they dress differently to show the world that they are followers of God. Not a problem, but again, it can be scary.
Christianity has NO emphasis on study. For thousands of years, the Bible was not available to the people. Priests read it, and in some places, the priests didn't even have Bibles. In some branches of Christianity, reading the scripture still isn't important. Islam also doesn't focus as much on scripture as much as it does prayer. Yes, Muslims do read the Koran and the extracannonical works and sayings of the Prophet Muhammed, but the main focus is on prayer.
Judaism has a strong focus on study. Think about it, the Talmud, one of the most important documents of Judaism is Jewish scholars sitting around arguing about their interpretations of the Torah. It's scholastic. You have to study the Talmud for seven years to understand it properly, you have to read Torah, you have to follow and understand the laws, only through them can you reach God.
That's scary, too. Think about it. If you've been illiterate your whole life, and early Christians were, here's someone with a book, claiming to understand God. That's TERRIFYING.
Lastly, due to their cultural ostrasization, Jews were given less desirable jobs, like money lending. Obviously, with money comes power, and so the Christian world unwittingly used their antisemitism to the Jew's advantage and gave them power.
So let's review, Jews are more literate, therefore they write and publish books, which leads to a monopoly on the media. They're handed money because it's a "dirty" job and thereby accumulate wealth and power, so they control the banks, and lastly, they have their own beautiful mysterious culture, so the must have secret cults and EAT CHRISTIAN BABIES!!! OMFG!!!!!!
Trust me, the reason the Jews are hated is because of fear. Nothing more, nothing less.

To start with I think that most of the people who have commented on why no one likes Jews miss the point. Jews in America constitute less than 6% of the population. 46% of the billionaires in the US are Jews. 30% of the CEOs are Jews. Wall St is run by Jews. Communications, The Banks, movies, TV,The whole financial system in the US is run by Jews. Even our stupid health care system is run by Jews. Shakespeare was an anti-Semite Why is this? They are smart people who take care of their own. They love money. My son the doctor. They end up owning everything, like they had in nazi Germany. They where slim pickings for those ruthless bastards.Children in the 30s and 40s in Germany were told that if they are not good they will be sold to a fat Jew. Hitler comes along ( who is half Jewish) and states in Mien Kampf, that he had nightmares of orthodox Jews seducing Aryan Girls. Jewish ability to support each other and nepotism has made them very successful, they dedicate themselves to become doctors, lawyers, bankers etc. Two reasons why the Jews were persecuted during WW11 was Germans did not like the appearance of the orthodox Jews and they that they owned tremendous assets in Germany. These assets were taken away for nothing by the thugs that were running things. In the end one way or another, by hook or by crook they own the store. Hope this does not offend too many people

I wasn't aware that Jews were that dispised. I know Mel Gibson made his drunken rant, but that's about the only thing I've heard about recently.
More recently the guy who played Kramer went off on Blacks.
I think you're going to hear people talk about and against this group or that group. It's all done out of ignorance.
You can not intelligently say that "all ________" do this or that. None of us are carbon copies of anyone else, we have our own thoughts and values. Those who lump categories together may be loud and get the attention, but they are far from the majority of the public - and most definitely are far from "everybody."

You put a lot of words here that have absolutely no bearing on the initial question that you wrote.
Why does everybody hate the Jews? Your question.
I'm part of the everybody you write about and I hate no man and that includes the Jews.
Can you tell me who is a Jew that everyone hates?
A Jew, hate this term, is a person who lives in the area of Israel know as Judea.
A Jew, hate this term, is a person who is a descendant from the tribe of Judah.
Many people who are not Jews, hate this term, call themselves Jews out of ignorance. They don't know who they are. If the two definitions don't fit, you are not one.
Everything you need to know id=s contained in the volume of the book. The Word of God. Go there and gain wisdom.><>

First, not everyone hates jews.
Second, they are both a race and a religion, though not all in that race practice the religion. One group, called Jews For Jesus practices a Christian / Jewish mix.
I'm not going to give stereotypes I've heard because I simply think that repeating that crap is wrong. It would be the same as repeating stereotypes of French, Italian, Black, Native American, Irish or whatever. Being French, Scottish and Native American, I've heard lots of them, some even from my parents. I just think it's wrong to perpetuate stuff like that.

The fact of the matter is that the Jews are God's chosen people. The world hates the Jews because of that affiliation. Jesus said that they (and all Christians to) should not feel bad about this because they hated Him to. If the world hated Him then you know it would hate His people. People come up with all kinds of bogus excuses but the real fact is that they are God's children. God is for what is right. He hates sin. That is a deception of the devil to make every one hate them. He gives them reasons that they think are legitimate but when all is said and done, the fact remains that satan hates God. The people of the world who are lost in sin(satan's people) hate God's people. May God Bless

I've often heard that they are cheap and very sneaky....always trying to bargain for things, trying to get away with something for nothing....well, it sounds to me like that could be anybody really...
I have worked for jewish people all my life and to tell you the truth, they maybe be conservative in some ways, but they treat their employees very well, and pay them very well also. I don't know if I just got lucky, but I've worked for more than 1, so I am guessing that they are good ones and bad ones like in any other religion. I personally think they have a wonderful sense of humor and are wonderful and savvy business men/women, and uphold the upmost respect for their family and friends. BTW I am a Catholic, but prefer to work with jewish people, with them you never have to guess where you stand, at least that's has been my experience.

everyone hates the Jews because this is God's judgemnet against them for sinning. it's written in the Bible that if they do not obey they will be scattered and persecuted by every country. until the end time when they will return to Israel.
it's all in the Bible.
Deuteronomy 28
36
The LORD will drive you and the king you set over you to a nation unknown to you or your fathers. There you will worship other gods, gods of wood and stone.
37
You will become a thing of horror and an object of scorn and ridicule to all the nations where the LORD will drive you.
Deuteronomy 28
65
Among those nations you will find no repose, no resting place for the sole of your foot. There the LORD will give you an anxious mind, eyes weary with longing, and a despairing heart.
66
You will live in constant suspense, filled with dread both night and day, never sure of your life.
67
In the morning you will say, "If only it were evening!" and in the evening, "If only it were morning!"--because of the terror that will fill your hearts and the sights that your eyes will see.

It's not a big deal. This is just another sweeping generalization about a culture. It's like saying" How come Mexicans are all tattooed up, gang bangin', pot smoking, wife beating, crack fiends?" They are not. It was an ignorant generalization.
That's the same thing you're doing right now. Not everyone hates Jews. I don't know any Jews well enough to hate them.
