You need nothing more than to walk by the light of the Word of God. Spiritual warfare is a contemporary term, not found in the Bible and a whole teaching has grown up about it that is not even Biblical. Stick to the Bible, if it is not in there you don't need it, and you can bring on yourslef many headaches. Spiritual warfare was done at the cross of Jesus Christ, by Jesus Christ and "it is finished". What you need is faith in Jesus Christ as your Savior and Lord.

Spiritual warfare is the warring between good and evil. A common example is when Satan or his helpers try to influence Christians through somekind of temptation. Sometimes it can be obvious, like when a solid Christian man is tempted to cheat on his wife, which, potentially can destroy his family. The Holy Spirit reminds him of who he is in Christ and steers him the other way while evil keeps telling him he won't get caught. Sometimes the warfare is not so obvious, like when, let's say a father just spends to much time working with the idea that he's doing it all for his family, when what his family really needs is more of him.

God does let countries make war with each other. The reason why is that they do not follow his word or teachings. Most wars are caused by a nation or a leader of a nation becoming full of inequity and bringing war upon its self or by invading another country for a perceived wrong or a expected gain. As you will see at some point in the future God will step in before Jerusalem is once again taken from the Jews but it will look as though their is no hope before he does so but that may be far into the future. God will protect those people who truly believe in him. As to the answer to your question God will let his people protect themselves even if it comes down to invading a country to do it.

Spiritual warfare in what respect? Please be more specific. I cannot educate you properly if I don't understand the question. If you mean fighting against evil, I would say the best defense is a good offense. Where you see "evil" as in "injustice, intolerance, cruelty, abuse, anger, hatred, etc.", then do whatever you can bring the qualities of mercy, justice, compassion, acceptance, kindness, love, forgiveness into the situation. This is the only "spiritual warfare" a true "soldier of God" should be concerned with.

Prior to the earth's creation, God presented a plan whereby we could gain bodies and experience and hopefully return to him (keeping in mind that no evil can be dwell in His presence). Lucifer said HE would take charge, force us all to be good, and get the glory. Christ said HE would teach us how to act, take our sins upon himself, give us free agency, and give the Father all the glory. Satan wanted to glorify himself, and Christ wanted to glorify the Father. When these plans were presented, 1/3 of all spirits chose Lucifer's way and were cast out, never to obtain bodies or return to God. The fact that you are here shows you chose Jehovah's plan.
Lucifer (also known as Satan) is very angry and bitter now, and wants to stop ANY of us from returning. He knows no evil can dwell with God, so he tries to make us sin. All those who were cast down with him are assisting him.
The SCARY thing is this: There are probably billions of spirits. Only a few of us that chose Christ's plan are on the earth at a time, as we take turns being born and dying. But ONE THIRD of ALL spirits are here as Satan's warriors ALL the time, so we are WAY outnumbered. However, God and Christ are more powerful than all that evil combined, so we strive to follow them and move forward. Satan and his minions are all spirits without body, and they can, in certain ways, still communicate with our spirits. Thus, we are literally involved in spiritual warfare for our eternal life and return to our Heavenly Father.
Toward the end of the earth, things are supposed to get worse as Satan increases his efforts, knowing the end is near. One look around and you can see this occurring - the righteous people are made fun of as the earth becomes more carnal-minded and intolerant of sacred things and morals.

If you are a believer in the Lord Jesus Christ, then you are in Spiritual Warfare. Sometimes the battle is hot, and sometimes it cools off a bit, but it never ceases. Spiritual Warfare is Satan's work to inhibit, hinder, stall, and thwart your spiritual growth. He does this through temptations, guilt, and sin.
Ephesians 6:10 and following outlines the methods of attack, and the methods of protection. As with Eve, the battles always start with a lie of Satan.

Many people don't know the truth about Satan's defeat. In fact, many Christians are the very instrument the devil is using to foster the deception that he is still a powerful foe. "Spiritual warfare" is one of the hottest topics in the church today. People are expending great amounts of energy constantly battling the devil in ways contrary to Scripture, but in reality, Satan has already been defeated. We don't need to defeat him again.
We need to believe that Satan has already been completely destroyed (Heb. 2:14) and simply enforce his defeat. The only power he has is the power to deceive. Our battle should be against the wiles (trickery) of the devil (Eph. 6:11), not the devil himself. Any other approach is actually giving the devil authority and power which he doesn't have, and he uses that to intimidate us. The only weapon Satan has is the power we give him when we believe his lies.
Warfare only takes place between two undefeated foes. Once an enemy has been conquered, the war is over. Satan is a defeated foe.
Colossians 2:15 says, "And having spoiled principalities and powers, he made a shew of them openly, triumphing over them in it." The archaic meaning of the word "spoiled" here is "to plunder; despoil" (American Heritage Dictionary). This means that after Jesus defeated Satan, He stripped him of everything he had, specifically the keys of death and hell (Rev. 1:18). Satan has no power to imprison anyone.
The Greek word that was translated "shew" in this verse (Col 2:15) is "deigmatizo" which means "to exhibit" (Strong). This comes from the root word "deigma" which means "a specimen (as shown)" (ibid.). Satan is like one of those bugs we had to capture for biology class. We caught it and then impaled it on a board with a little pin to exhibit it. You need to picture the devil nailed to the cross of Jesus like a bug on display. Hallelujah! Take that, Mr. Devil!
The Greek word that was translated "triumphing over" in Colossians 2:15 is especially significant. It means "to make an acclamatory procession" (ibid.). This is specifically referring to the way the Romans had a "triumphant procession" after they had defeated their enemies.
Upon conquering an enemy, the Romans would hold a parade. They would take the conquered king, strip him naked, and drag him through the crowd behind the conquering king or commander for all their subjects to see. He would be humiliated and insulted, but that's not all. They would also cut off the thumbs of his hands and the big toes of both feet. This was to assure the subjects this enemy would never be a threat to any of them again. He could not hold a sword and he would never be able to run again. There was no need to fear him any more. Any rumor about him ever challenging Rome again would be scoffed at because the citizens had seen him in the parade.
The same thing happened to the devil. That's what this verse is referring to. Jesus not only beat the devil, but He had a triumphant procession to display the devil to the universe as a totally conquered foe. Satan should never terrify us again. Unfortunately, many Christians have missed the parade. They haven't seen God's triumphant procession that was pictured in God's Word where Satan was displayed as a totally defeated foe. They are circulating rumors that Satan is a powerful foe to be reckoned with. That's not so.
Satan is still alive, and we do have to reckon with him but only because he has so many lies circulating about his power against us. These are all lies, and therein lies Satan's power. If we believe his lies, he then uses our own authority, which our fear grants him, to work his destruction in our lives. He has no power of his own. He's using the power and authority that our misdirected faith gives him.

Satan was cast to the earth with only a short time he knows that. being born again you will be safe with God. Cast any unclean spirits out of your life in the name of Jesus Christ. The demons come in one direction and flee in seven. Even the demons acknowledge Christ and they fear Him. They are defeated by the blood of Christ on the cross. Darkness can never mix with Light. It is impossible for demons or satan to remain in your life if you walk with God, and know that Christ is your salvation.
