all i have is a black screen, i right click and hit the desktop tab but all the apperance ptions are locked. ive tried right clicking on a picture and selcting set as background and it still is black. can somone please help me?

Has your scren always looked like this? What type of computer are you using? Are you using windows xp? Well try this, just the long way. Go to control panel and click on display click on desktop and then browse for a picture you want to use.

You are using a weird sign-in. When you start up your computer, you are signing into a user that does not have full permissions. If you can, when you turn on your computer, (I assume you get this screen) don't click cancel, or type in whatever user you do, instead, try typing in "administrator" in the login box and put in no password. If this works, you will have full permissions, then work from there.

If the computer you are describing is an office PC, then probably the network administrator has disabled all those features. However if this is your personal PC and you are sure you haven't tweaked anything there, then it's probably some malicious softwares that have made these changes.
