Is that possible that an event that is related to flood happened a long ago? Because from East to West, from North to South, Asia to Europe, there are flood stories.

Because many floods happened in the past or else why would they invent stories about them, Although the floods reason is unknown to us but if they were mentioned in all the civilization from every corner of the world then the reason would be a global catastrophe due to mysterious phenomenas as an impact on the earth which caused the oceans to change place and cause floods on dry lands .

These different flood stories are a compilation of collective memories of an event that happened a long time ago that these different cultures and societies wrote down and interpreted differently.
The flood happened, it's just that the Bible's version is the truest version.

anthropologists have studied these flood stories all over the world and come to a strange conclusion. There was an epic flood that nearly depopulated the world. Archeologists have found a worldwide " flood layer" in the geological stratum and come to the same conclusion.

Think about it. A year and a half ago, Katrina submerged New Orleans. Two years ago, a tsunami killed 200,000 people. Devastating floods are very common in a world were two thirds of the surface is water.

There were at least two floods (neither of global scope) for which evidence has been found. One was the filling of the Mediterranean, which at one time was dry. The other was in the Black Sea.
