You have to use a brown dye that is labeled Ash. Like medium ash brown and it will make that stuff go away. Anything else will bring out the red highlights in your hair. Be careful with anything blue.

GGGIIIRRRLLLL!!! I have answered quite a few hair color ?'s on Yahoo Answers and they "ALL" have been voted #1 answers. "I" am a "Stylist". I don't care to just "take" peoples $ from them, especially when they think that they can do their color themselves at home. However, I make my most $ by CORRECTING mistakes that people make on themselves experimenting @ home, and it is always said that "I should've just gotten it done professionally the first time around!!!"- it's usually ALOT cheaper that way 2! Most peoples interpretation of their own hair color, is 99% of the time, different than what we see as professionals. Going by what u said u have, and what u want to do, it sounds like your going 2 have a mess on your hands!! Although green DOES cancel out red, Yellow will Not cancel out orange, and Blue DEFINITELY will not cancel out purple!! Your formula is going to be WAY off, but you probably won't listen 2 what I'm saying cuz I'm just a stylist- Good Luck!!

Well mix up the hair dye, cut off a small amount of hair from underneath your hair at the back, put the dye on and see what happens. It can't hurt anything to test it and see. Or go to a beauty supply place and ask their opinion, sometimes they are very helpful.

go for a dark brown on a level 3 or 4 so it can cover the other color u have..... if u go to a level 2 or 1 that is black and it is so hard to change that so dont.
level 1 black
level 10 white blond.
