I answered a ad on Craigslist to care for a ladies cat, she is in between houses, we went to pick her up because she has no car, so I felt bad, she provided food, litter, cat treats and stuff, and asked me how much does she owe me, I felt bad to even take money but she said ok heres 10 and you decide what to do with the 10, its between you and God, buy a homeless food or buy little kids ice cream?? She comes once a week to visit the cat, how much is reasonable? My husband keeps telling me I need to ask her for money, Please advice??

We hired a professonal pet sitter last Chrstmas to pet sit our diabetc cat & his brother. She charged $25 a day for both cats & had to give the diabetic 2 shots a day. So, I'd say for 1 cat w/no medical issues $5-$10 a week is reasonable. You are very kind.

Did you have intentions of receiving pay for taking in the ladies the cat in the first place? If you didnt then I see no need to charge her. If she offers you money thats your own decision to make on wether or not to take it but I feel as long as this lady is supplying you with the necassary items to care for the cat then I feel you should do it for free. From one animal lover to another. Im sure when she can get back on her feet she will gladly offer you compensation for caring for her cat. Again you have to consider why this lady is between homes. Most likely due to lack of funds. Consult with your husband as to why he feels you should ask for the money..if its just because your enjoying the company of a cat then i'd stand up for what you feel is right for the situation. Its ultimately your decision though. Go with what your gut says.

Follow your own heart and not your husband's. It seems the lady really cares for her cat as she has provided you with the necessary supplies.

You nourish your own soul by helping someone with a problem without any recompense. Tell her to donate the money to a rescue organisation or a humane society.

What you give freely to the universe will come back to you in good measure..

Just charge her your expenses. If the lady pays for the food and litter, it's like you have a free pet cat.
I wouldn't charge her anymore than that.
Cheers.

You are kind to want to help this woman. Don't feel selfish for wanting pay. I think you may want to sit down with the woman, yourself, and your husband so you can find a price that everyone likes. Of course, if you don't want to do that, I say that 5-10$ is a good amount.

well i think if she buys the catfood and litter and you want to do it out of the kindness of your heart you shouldnt charge her anything. Now if you have the cat for more than say 4 to 6 weeks i would say i would charge her like 20 bucks a week. that seems reasonable.

how sweet of you. seeing as she still visit, she really loves her cat. this is hard to say since she probably really needs the money. if she is paying for every thing, maybe she can pay you in other ways, like help you clean your house or something like that. i sure wish there where more people like you in this cruel world! i wish you the best!! :)

i consider it will have to all be a kit deal, like dont cost founded on how usually you choose up poop or whatever, i consider you will have to cost someplace among $50-$seventy five, if their extra at the deficient aspect, cost $50 and if their extra at the wealthy aspect, cost $seventy five
