Definitly the Colt.
The Desert Eagle is the most powerful, but after the first shot, the weight of the gun and the recoil makes it very very unstable. It's pretty much a rifle squashed down into handgun size. If you want to kill someone or something straight away, use the Desert Eagle. Just don't get in a ranged firefight or a situation that requires a quick, well aimed subsequent shot!
The hardballer is just a piece of crap, they are pretty much made of tin and the only reason they are famous is because they were in The Terminator movies. The don't last long, they are not very accurate and don't have a good range.
The Colt is definitly the best. They are tried and true, and are still one of the most popular handguns around. They are slightly lighter than the Hardballer too and a lot easier to handle.
They use standard ammunition and there is a wide selection of different clips available.Standard is the 7round clip but you can go up to a 10round clip I think (including the round in the chamber)
Go for the Colt you wont regret it.
but if you just wanna impress your mates or blow someone away, get a D.E.

I'd go with the Colt unless you have a testosterone poisoning issue, it's a much more handy weapon and much cheaper to feed. It's also an old design, but there's plenty of people who know how to deal with all the minor issues it has, there's an answer for every 1911 question and there's a million and one custom parts. First thing I did with mine was swap the plastic mainspring housing for stainless and add a magazine well.
On the other hand I already have a 1911 (Kimber Pro CDP II) and I may buy a DE just because it's an interesting machine, there aren't many gas operated rotating bolt pistols. I have shot a 44 DE extensively and didn't have any problems, but it's a very large toy, you wouldn't want to carry it far, though I expect there's someone who does. They are a lot more fuss to shoot than the 45 too, if I remember correctly the issue was that the piston opens to the outside after the slide has moved a short distance and then you get a flash from under the gun as it vents. Unexpected. Last time I looked the more recent ones weren't nearly as well made as the old IMI ones.
I'd also consider the Para Ordnance mentioned above, that will probably be my next 45.
I'm not even going to mention the hardballer.

The Colt but the Deasert Eagle looks amasing (which is very important). Don't forget the Sig Suer P226 and P228 or the Magnum.45.

M1911 is easily the most reliable. You can drag this weapon through mud, snow, and sand and it will fire the entire magazine without a malfunction. .45 ACP has sufficient energy and "stopping power", even if range is somewhat limited.
