Yes they can. I'm 56 years old and I have a male friend that I've been friends with for 42 years. Been through marriages, divorces, deaths, kids and a caboodle of other stuff with, but never lovers..not even close.

I think it's possible, but it is hard not to let those kind of feelings get in the way. If a man is friends with a woman, and the woman begins dating someone else, then he will feel a bit of jealousy and that she is spending more time with her boyfriend rather than her friend.

OF COURSE!!! It just is a different friendship. Theres some freindships, (like dating), where everything you do invloves that person. The being best friends, or friends, can involve just being closer, in a different way. Try picturing it like going out with one of your friends. Wouldn;t that be awkward? Just have a relationship like that.

i think they can. as long as u don't end up falling for each other. you can be friends and not like each other, i know of people who have guy friends as their best friend.
