I agree, the standard menu is the cornerstone of Windows knowledge. It seems pretty stupid to abandon that after all these years. Maybe Bill Gates screwed up?

Good luck and Happy Computing!

Internet Explorer 7 has been completely redesigned. Microsoft's intent was to make it more visual based and modern. Most of the menu items are still there, but are hidden so to speak. If you look at the upper right you underneath the search bar you should see a house, a page, a gear all with a down arrow. If you click on those buttons menus will drop down from then and you can pick what function you want to use from there.

I had the same problem! You can get that tool bar line back by going to the Tools arrow at the far right side of the screen -- check "Menu bar" and your file, edit, favs, etc will come back
Sometimes an upgrade is such a pain..........

Just right click any where on the internet page toolbar untill you get a drop down box. Put checks next to the modules you want added.

Look at the upper right corner. There should be a button that has a pic of a gear on it. Thats all the options. Just unhide the main toolbar.

Because there is an icon for each of those function, Mr Gates decided that you did not need the text version of them also. So it is turned off by default. You can go under toolbars and turn it on if you want it.
