I like Terro liquid ant bait. Put it down near where you see them - I use a pop bottle top instead of the cardboard squares that come with the bait.. They carry the bait back to the nest and it will kill the whole nest. I had that problem in my apartment - there must've been a hundred ants all lapping up the poison. I watched where they were coming from and when no more came, I caulked up the hole that they were coming in. Voila, no more ants.

Look to see where they are coming in from and then place a bait in their trail. Don't let anything disturb the bait while it is out or the ants might not take it. The ants should begin taking it within 24 hours. They will take the bait back to their nest and it will kill off that whole colony. You can try using a bait from the hardware store, but I find that they aren't always the most effective. I prefer to use professional grade baits like the bugman would use. There is a website where you can buy profesional grade chemicals that I like to use. It's called homepestsolutions.com. They are very helpful if you email the bugman questions. The chemicals I get from them are really good and it doesn't cost near as much as hiring a bugman to come out. In the meantime, be sure you don't have any leaky pipes or standing water in your bathroom. Ants are drawn to moisture. Good luck getting rid of those ants!

Ants usually go to a "mold" source. Do you have a potted plant in either room that may have been watered too much at some point? That's what happened to me. Watch their trail, you will probably be able to find the "source" and the queen. Get rid of the plant or whatever the source is, they will just come back to it. For a temporary fix, the ant traps do work well, but I would place atleast two on each wall to start with. I finally had to invest in Terminex to get rid of the buggers once and for all!

Vinegar (the clear one)! It is the best thing I have found so far to get rid of and keep ants away. It is also the safest and most healthy way to rid the buggers if you have children in the house.

Also, ants go to the bathroom in search of water and food, dried skin to be exact, (yeah I know it sounds gross, but it is true), so dry and clean everything really well, then wipe the all the entrances edges with the vinegar and they'll stay away.

pour some splenda(artificail sweetner around the walls where they hide or come in. It's actually a pesticide and was sold as such before they discovered the ants liked it due to the sweet taste. After a few days the ants should stop coming in
they soon learn it's not healthy to live there.
I read this in a news article which blew the story on the sweetner

Ace hardware has a product call Terro Ant killer. It's the best for ants, it's thick like karo syrup and you just put a little on a piece of cardboard provided. First lots of ants come but then they take it back to their nest and it kills them. I've used this for several yrs for ants

Well, you could get some pesticide. But why are they there in the first place? Eating cookies and not cleaning the crumbs? Still the easiest way would be just to wipe them all away on a paper towel or something

Peppermint but without the sweet. Get some peppermint oil and sprinkle it around the room. They hate the smell believe it or not. Keeps them out of my kitchen and bath.
