BTW the US did not support Israel until the end of the 1973 war. In fact, during the 1967 war the US had an arms boycott and was supplying intelligence on IDF movements to the Arab countries.

Israel will go on with or without the US because the land belongs to God who then gave it to his chosen people the Jews.
His promise to bring them home one final time has now happened and will continue to happen.
Toda--great answer! Oh so true--it is the USA that will suffer the most should she ever stop supporting Israel. There are many in the goverment and big business that do not support Israel and are under a great dilusion attempting to buy into the current falacy of the Palestinians--why? Because they are more interested in Oil revenues.
Consider many of the great empires in the history of the world--Rome--England to name a couple. World powers no more--no--once any nation stands against Israel they suffer.

The real question is, how many days will the arabs last if the USA seizes to stand behind Israel!? If America were to cut off all connection with Israel, there would be no one telling them not to defend themselves! Why do you think Israel takes blows from the arabs without taking proper action? The reason is because America stops them from defending themselves and therefore if America had nothing to do with Israel, they would attack the arabs right back! Israel has G-d behind them, the One and only True G-d! Trust me, they will last very long if America stops 'supporting' them!

Israel is the only Jewish state in the whole world. The Arabs have 22 states. The Arabs are not wiling to accept a Jewish state in their midst.
Israel thought that by leaving Gaza entirely in August 2005, that the Arabs would get their act together and develop their economy. Instead, the Arab have seen fit to launch thousands of missiles at Israel's civilian population, intending to kill as many citizens as possible.
Israel, on the other hand, is trying to live in peace. When they do attack, it is with the clear objective of silencing the Arab terrorists. By international law, Israel is totally justified in its quest to protect its citizens. The Arabs are in total violation of international law by unprovoked attacking of innocent civilians in Israel.
The Palestinian Arabs could have had a state already, if they only behaved like civilized human beings. But they have proven time and again that they are not ready to behave, and so the Arabs will have to exist with "only" 22 states.

Israel does not need the United States to support them in order to survive. Israel has one of the best air forces and military in the entire world and it only looks like they need U.S. help because the U.N. has put ridiculous restrictions on what Israel can attack. Of course, Israel is greatful that the United States supports them, but they definately are not dependant on the United States.
