Oh! the person before me had some great ideas, but the links don't work! That's a bummer.
I just wanted to add an idea or two:
Life Learning Magazine, Home education Magazine and Practical Homeschooling Magazine all provide free back issues (and subscription cards) for homeschooling support group. Just email them and ask.
Our state-wide support group also provides free books, pamplets and info. Contact your state group and ask them if they have any materials you can have for your recource center.
I put the links below. Good luck! (And, can I come by and check it out when you're done? :P

Check out library book sales. They are often cheaper than paying for shipping. Most books are a dollar or two if that.
Also, contact any local homeschool groups and have them circulate your request among their members.

See the group address below. It is a group for homeschoolers to offer items that they no longer need or to request things that they do need. Everything is free except for postage and the occasional minimal handling fee to cover shipping supplies costs.

textual content books for first grade no yet that is what we do for my first grader. considering that he's basically studying to ascertain I take the youngsters on biweekly journeys to the library. those books are borrowed for loose. For Math we invested about 60.00 in Math U See. We also bought low-cost workbooks from Walmart for phonics. it really is all we do for him considering that he continues to be one of those little boy. we ought to quite see him as a touch boy playing outdoors than a slaving over books.
