The cold hard truth is you can't. Oh, you might intimidate them into staying out of it when you are around, but the minute you are out the door, the cat it swaying back and forth on the top of the tree, going....Na Na Na Na Na

They aren't stupid and they know what they want.

Well, you may not like to do this, but you can always keep a squirt bottle with water and squirt the cat a little bit every time you see it near or on the tree...that may make it think twice about jumping on the tree. I have heard of others, but cannot remember them at this time!

We use a squirt bottle and spray him with water every time he gets near it.
We did this the past few years, after the cat gets squirted enough times he will stay out of the tree.

Squiritng her with water will artwork. Everytime she is going close to it, squirt her from a distance yet do no longer enable her to work out the bottle. she would be able to commence associating the tree with the mysterious flying water and study to lead sparkling. you additionally can attempt mendacity tin foil under thr tree or tape mendacity face up, cats do unlike the two one. in case you already know all people with a dogs, rub some embellishes or garland on the dogs. LOL purely kidding related to the dogs element. ought to artwork yet kinda stupid.

Ok this was a while ago, but I remember having to put pepper in the plants in the front yard to keep our cats out of it... we just sprinkled black pepper (like from our table) and they didn't bother it. Could be worth a shot right?

I don't even try. Bella gets bored if she doesn't get a reaction. After one night, she has lost all interest in the tree. She prefers to watch for squirrels through the window!

i am having the same problem. It helps to get a squirt bottle, and squirt them everytime they go near it. They will eventually get the idea, that going near it is a bad thing.

squirt bottle is really the only thing that ever worked for my stubborn cats (and they will try to sneak back to it hoping you don't see them...)
