I have a Papillon mix and i have read that they are prone to blindness! He is always squinting and he has lost the hair in the corner of his eyes and his always has very thick tears! I want to know if anyone knows anything about this! I do plan on taking him to the vet! But i wanted to hear anyone comments and see if anyone has heard of anything like this before! I know he can see fine but i am afraid over time he might go blind! Which i would be horrible because i have a 2 year old! He's great with her now but im afraid he might get spooked if he goes blind and bite her! Any suggestions would be helpful! Thanks in advance!

Here's a picture of my Bandit!

no doubt about it
if he's lost hair around his eyes
and THICK tears? Tears are normal THICK tears are not.

Sorry guess I'm not very helpful.
But to worry about how the dog might react IF he loses his sight seems a sad sad outlook.

Could be Keratoconjunctivitis sicca (KCS) aka "Dry Eyes". It may not be severe to the point your dog would eventually go blind. Might be something as simple as applying eye drops daily, to help.
