I lie in a completely dark room NO sound NO light with a warm almost hot wash cloth on my head covering my eyes and forehead it takes a while but usually works, hope that helps.

i get migranes all of the time, and i can tell you that there are certain massages make the pain go away. what you do: just relax, and with your hands, put your index and middle finger of each hand on your temples. then slowly put pressure there and gently massage your head. it is best to do this when you are laying down, in a quiet place. while you massage your head, you should drink some water. hope it gets better fast.

There has been a lot of buzz from a recent study showing that there was a good majority of migraine sufferers that also had low magnesium levels. With that, those that took a magnesium supplement had less migraines, and when they did have them, they weren't as painful. My wife gets them constantly, and for quite a while, the magnesium helped her a lot.

Try OTC magnesium supplements. If it does not work no harm. Check with your practitioner to make sure you have no medical problems that would be contraindicated
