It sounds like you value this guy more than your friendship. Or she valued him over you. Either way, just tell her. Don't expect your friendship to be strong after all of this.

Send her a cobweb cut out from paper. "Oh what tangled webs we weave when ourselves and others we decieve." That goes on the envelope.
On the web write: We're friends. That will never change. Let's hope boys change - into men. Things have changed in both of our relationship with _______. I just wanted to keep the webs untangled.

if you want to remain friends with her....I suggest you don't tell her and break it off now. that's like one of the best friend rules...everyone knows that....put yourself in her shoes....you would'nt like it and feel betrayed even if he was already an ex...
