Stereotyping is simply a process of categorizing individuals who conform to a set of characteristics. Discrimination is the depriving of rights and opportunities to individuals based upon some criteria, which may or may not be stereotypical.
Example: "All White People Can't Dance" (Stereotype)
Example: "Women aren't allowed to Vote"(Discrimination)

Hopefully, I didn't offend anyone with those examples.

Stereotyping is when you make an assumption about someone based on one experience or something you've heard or seen. For example, if I saw two women on welfare who were lazy and my friend told me about two more women on welfare who were lazy, it would be a stereotype if I were to assume that the next woman I met who was on welfare was also lazy.

Discrimination is when you act on your prejudice or on stereotypes. For example, if I decided based on my stereotyping and limited experiences with women on welfare that I was going to make a law that no women could take welfare again, I'd be discriminating against women.

I can look at you or someone and in my mind dehumanize or stereotype you as some two dimensional object like a terrorist and refuse to see the real person who is like me in more ways than opne and not acknowledge your different reality and perceptions co exist with mine as well as others in this multifaceted world we all share as one human race or I can actively do something or deny you some diginity and affect you by discriminating against you which involves action which can range from not helping you ,to killing you

stereotyping is making assumptions about someone based on race, nationality, religion, sexual preference
like all blacks are criminals, all gay men are sissies - they are not always true, but some people associate all persons of a particular group to have the same qualities

discriminating is not liking someone because of their differences
like hating all jews or muslims, without even knowing them, just because of what they are

None, it's the same as being profiled. Judged on the surface according to what some statistic says.

It's unfair!

Stereotyping- Putting people in a group based on what/how they are expected to do/say/act.

Discrimination- Hatred of a group because of something they cant help.

But they have something in common...I hate people who do both!!!
