Only way I think is you be a model parent and part of that should be the religious belief. if you don't practice and only preach no use. They are far smarter and will go awry. You can take good religious assemblies where good orators explain things very sensibly and along with your own way of practice will work.

Ok, I'm to stress something really big here. Do not force them into a religion. Teach them about different religions, encourage them to make their own decisions on what faith they wish to follow, but don't tell them this is right or that is wrong. They will greatly appreciate this.
Anyways, how to teach them? Let them find out on their own or give them books that describe the different religions. Teach them the Bible or Q'uran, but don't preach it to them. Let them read about Buddhism and Hindu. If you want, and I suggest this, but let them read about some of the Pagan faiths as well. Part of this is to teach them different religions so they can make their own decision, but the other part is so they gain respect and understand towards other faiths.
I hope this helps.

I have a children's Bible that I use with my son and he reads out of it. We also do a lot of life lessons even during the day. When you think about it there are a million chances during your day to take little "commercial breaks" and point things out to them. Even if it's as simple as helping someone put groceries into their car or something like that. I use regular movies like The Wizard of Oz and even Ghost to show my son little life lessons about choices etc. I find it's more important to teach a relationship more than religion. Most importantly you must live as you are teaching for it to really make a difference. Take care

Well first you need to get them into a great Bible based church that enriches our youth and helps them to get to know Jesus Christ as their Lord and savior. Get them kid versions of the bible or picture bibles that are fun and educational. Surround them with young christians like themselves so they can share their thought and feelings with their peers.
Also be sure to be open to your kid's points of view, parents tend to shut out their kid's opinions thinking that their own are more important. Because if you shut out kid's feelings and thoughts but still make them listen to you all the time and you not doing any listening to them, they are not going to be open in the future when they need help with the hard issues like sex, drugs, stealing, etc..
Always be available to your kids because alot of things they encounter, their own peers can't solve and they need a strong authority figure to talk to, you. Get with other Christians parents and find out their methods of raising children from a Godly perspective. Read and share the Bible with your children, take time out of your day to set a time to read to kid's some bible verses and talk to them about what they mean and how they should live by them, and ask them questions on how they feel they can apply those things to their own lives, even little children have an opinion too.
Most important of all show your kids not only you care alot about them but God cares also. Teach them to pray, have them to pray every night before bed or everyday before they are sent off to school, pray with them also, they need your support too, encourage them to pray, and teach them that God is eagerly waiting to hear from them.
I hope this gets you started! *Peace and Blessing*

Usually, there will be a center that teaches kids about your religion close by, like CCD for Christians. Other than that, lead by example and they will follow.

Well first, make sure what you believe is truth. If you feel comfortable with it, tell it to them just as you would if you were teaching them to swim, fish, golf, play games. Be confident in what you know is true. And remember, its not your opinion, its the truth. We either accept it or not, but it is NEVER opinion.

Kids are like sponges, they soak up everything around them. They will eventually act as they see you act. Even the bad stuff. and the good stuff also.

By telling them whatever they do, don't read that bible.
In 2 days they'll be all over it.
How about leaving them the heck alone and not brainwashing them? If someone told them that they were atheist and your kids asked what that meant, would you rather they not hear about that until they were more indoctrinated? Or would you be comfortable with them hearing about that option?

Let them read and learn everything there is and then tell them how you believe.
Let them choose freely.
God would want it that way!
