First of all you need to use proper sentences. "why do it take".... is not correct. It should be "what does it take.....I'm a parent and I have an almost 15 year old (Jan. 28). You're right about making mistakes and hopefully getting it right after the first mistake and not making anymore. But for some it takes a while like banging your head into a brick wall until you realize, "hey that hurts!" Parents need patience with their kids, because someday those kids might be parents too.

usually because theyve made the same mistakes. its hard to watch someone screw up when youve done it too and you know the consequences. parents make just as many, if not more , mistakes than their kids do. sometimes neither one of them learn anything. theres also the love issue, you cant stand to sit by while your kid gets hurt. i know what your saying, i still remember what its like, you just have to understand the other side. unfortunately, the parents forget sometimes, what its like to be a kid.

i think a lot of parents know that their children are going to make mistakes. i don't have any children, i am pregnant, but i can kind of see both sides of it. i know my son is going to make mistakes, but making mistakes can be hard and can bring on heartbreak or many other feelings that we wish we could protect them from.

When you're a parent, you know what mistakes your kid is going to make, because you made them yourself. It's instinctive to try and protect our children from the pain we suffered.

I'm so confused by the question itself, lol.
We all make mistakes, and letting our kids make their own are valuable lessons that we could never teach them.
When our children make mistakes, it's our job to talk to them, give them options and suggestions on how to deal with whatever it is.

Parents already know this, but is their job to ensure their children find and learn the lessons.

I understand it completely, and I understand that not all children are destined for greatness. I wish my mom understood this.
