The menu says "Jerk seared" What does that mean is it relatively easy/possible to do at home? Can you tell that someone else cooks for me?

Searing is the relatively simple technique of laying your food in a ripping hot pan with just a little oil (usually on the food, not in the pan... less smoke that way).

It quickly forms a crust on the outside, leaving the inside moist and tender.

"Jerk seared" would indicate that it is dipped in the spicy Jamaican mix before cooking! And of course you can do it at home!

Best wishes!

Searing (or pan searing) is a technique used in grilling, roasting, braising, sautéing, etc. that cooks the surface of the food at high temperature so that a caramelized crust forms. A similar technique, browning, is typically used to sear or brown all sides of a particular piece of meat, fish, poultry, etc. before finishing it in the oven.

Easy as one two three...four! One hot pan, two a little oil in that pan, three the fish in the hot pan! This sears the fish (this seals in the moisture, crisps the outside and gives it a beautiful golden colour), four turn the fish then throw in the oven to finish cooking.

searing is browning all sides of a piece of meat.....usually in a very hot frying pan without much oil.
