When i was four i had six ureter repairs and also found out that i had Von Wilabrand blood disease. I am 16 and started having abdominal pains that doctors linked to a kidney infection caused by a urinary tract infection. I believe there is more behind this.

Von Willebrand is a clotting disorder than makes you be a bleeder. Your ureters are the tubes that bring the urine out of your bladder. Those were serious things, but urinary tract infection is also very common. It's possible that if you have scar tissue from the surgeries, it could be causing urine to stay in there too long, resulting in urinary tract infection that backs up into the kidneys. Many of not most girls get urinary tract infections. It's more rare in boys because of the way they're built. You could ask your doctor if he thinks your ureter situation is making your urinary tract infections lead to the kidney infection.
