I'll have to write one next semester. I'm just trying to think ahead. I have some ideas, but none of them strike me as extremely interesting.

It just has to be some issue in ethics. It could be abortion, homosexuality, war, medicine, anything.

The woman that Jesus spoke to by the well. All of the Disciples were all concerned because not only was he talking to a person that was not fully Jewish and in good standing --- she was a WOMAN. The topic could be man or woman --a gender does not negate human kindness or something like that. It always got to me a little how that woman wasn't liked by anybody. Because she had been married 5 times and was currently living with a person all the other women in the town treated her like an outcast too. That's why she was at the well in the middle of the day instead of the morning with everyone else. I don't mean to say what she did was o.k. just that Jesus recognized her for what she COULD be, not was she was.

How about one on following the 10 Commandments since all ethics can be found in them. Or about the falling away from them leads to all the immoral ethics.

You could talk about politicians' use of homosexuality, abortion, etc. as "wedge issues" to get votes from conservative Christians, and whether said believers should play along with this.

If you haven't heard of the concept, in US politics it is common for politicians to use "wedge issues" in order to get higher voter turnouts from their party base. While this is not illegal, believers should take note of the fact that little is actually done to resolve these issues, and that they are being played like a fiddle for their votes.

White slavery. It seems that giving your virginal daughters to a group of angry men for, whatever, is O.K., so long as you are only doing it to protect your house guest. Lot did this in Sodom.
