I want to know if there are any simple things a teenager (um... me) can do to help out causes and stuff. Like things against child abuse, Make A Wish, etc.

you could volunteer at a childrens hosp. , do a car wash and donate the proceeds, spend some time with the kids that make a wish is trying to help . my son died of brainstem cancer at 17 on oct 10 2006 , he would have loved for someone his own age to come and hang out with him .we had to move to a new town where we knew noone for his treatments.

Absolutely. Some places, however, like hospitals and clinics, require you to be 18 to have "patient contact." So call around to nonprofits you might be interested in, and ask. Or ask at your school. One thing that is fun is making dinnners or having holiday parties at the Ronald McDonald House. Groups of kids can get together and cook a special dinner for the families staying there (families whose kids are in the hospital stay at the Ronald McDonald houses.) If you call them, they can tell you what projects are available. Good luck. Find something you care about and where you can meet the people you are actually helping. Then it will be much more rewarding.

You could donate food or sort food at a food bank or food pantry. Many teenagers also do mentoring programs with younger kids, which can be a lot of fun. You may want to talk to a guidance counsellor at your school. They'll have a lot of ideas of other things that you can do locally. Have fun! I'm sure you'll help a lot!
