Start by saying hello when you sit down. After that, start talking about the lecture you just had. Ask her if she understood the part where the lecturer talked about XYZ. Or if she got the full description of that concept the lecturer covered. Then you can say hello, and start asking her if she had a nice weekend, and making other small talk that has nothing to do with the class. If she gets used to talking to you, you can ask her if she wants to go get coffee sometime.

What's the problem, have you ever considered saying a simple, "Hello." That's like the doorway that you have to go through, you never know what's on the other side of that door after you open it either. Maybe she's sitting there thinking, "Why doesn't this guy just say hello?"

Look a her and give her your best smile and then say ! What is your name! and then introduce yourself and say politely that you are a sopomore too and a little nervous on your first day of the class. That will break the ice

Walk up to her and ask her
"Excuse me, but do you know how much a polar bear weighs?"
When she looks back at you, probably puzzled, smile and reply,
"Enough to break the ice. Hi, i'm _______."

drop somthing and then struggle to get it she wwill ask you for help then mabye she will talk to you at the end of class and ask her out to the college hub or w/e
just try and get to know her but stay natural

Just introduce yourself, hi my names ------- whats yours;or ASK HER A QUESTION ABOUT school work or introduce yourself and if your brave enough ask her to have lunch with you;if she says no at least you tried and you will never know if you never try, if it fails with her don;t give up their are other;s out their always looking too.good luck
