Tell your mom the woman was 82 and had lived a long life already. It's ok, she was bound to go soon....

Have her call 911 and let them know what happened. If they have already been called and the woman is already in the hospital. Call the police and have your mom let them know what she saw and give any information that she can on the accident. I would hope she would do this to help out the woman even though it may get the people or person in trouble for what had happened.

Comfort your mom and tell her everything will turn out fine. Try to keep her mind on positive stuff so she can concentrate on the stuff that makes her happy in life.

Call 911, have her write down everything she saw, so if it goes to court, you won't have to rely on memory years later if she is called to be a witness.
