This question is one that I wonder myself. Everytime I ask someone they give me the run around about the question because they have no evidence. They tell me that if I believed in God that I would fill the truth. I believe that if I can't see or touch something it must not be real. BTW...I'm agnostic! I know I don't have all the answers to everything and I am ok with that. They're just things that happen everyday in this world that can not be explained. I like to leave the religion subject open because anything possible.

They are actually one or the other. The extremely intelligent were once skeptical about the existence of God and began studying everything the world had to offer. Through their studies they discovered that God is in fact real, and so they believe. Others just have faith, which doesn't mean their retarded but that's who you were aiming for with that comment.
Those in the middle are just skeptical enough to not believe in the Bible (so they believe God must not be real either), but aren't smart enough to see past the BS "science" (which is mainly crap nowadays) has to offer.

I guess God made you smarter? You obviously know it all and have it all figured out so why do you need us to tell you anything? God does not force any one to believe and I can't either, all I can tell you is nothing in my life has went wrong since my eyes were opened. But on the other hand what God has for me is for me. Your beliefs are yours you are more than willing to have them however insulting people and calling them retarded for their beliefs is not right religious or not it's not right.

Your wrong to think there not Intelligent. The overwhelming majority never really examined there faith. There are some brilliant theologians. I know someone who has a doctors in it. They guy is extremely talented in many areas of his life. I do think if more people learned about science and took a critical view of there religion they would change there minds. Most learned never to question there faith so they dont.

Actually, some are both, and most none of the above...much like anything else. They are simply believers in a concept...an idea presented that rang true to them...a part of them that can not be sensed with the usual five offered, thus "unseen".
Yes, some get fanatical about such things, have formed grand business ventures from them, used & abused them...again, much like anything else...just the way of our humanness, I guess, but so be it...so be you...so be me, yes? Peace!

It is Faith and you probably will not get a much better answer than that. You have to believe when you ask for God that He will come.Blessed are those who have knowledge of the Lord, because in the end all wisdom of earthly things will mean nothing. Ask for the Lord, accept Christ as your Savior. Then you shall see for yourself.

From those answers above me I can tell a lot of people still have difficulty understanding the word "faith" For someone who has faith means he has been persuaded into believing something the persuader wants he or she to believe. (peer pressure can be one example) If anyone encounters someone who's very persuasive, his or her faith will be altered. "trust me, you can fly" would be an unrealistic faith in yourself, but sometimes you do believe you can fly. This is something people who believe in God(s) also believe only God can bring pleasure to them, not sex!

Yes we do know something that you don't. God took the foolish things of this world to confound the wise and intellectual. So the answer to your brilliant question is: we are plain retarded. Be bless, love.

well, how do you believe you got here? your mother and father yes but where did they come from? and so on...
Also why do people believe in evolution? there is no scientific proof it happened or is still happening.
It may be not provable, but thats why it is faith. It is also not proven wrong, unlike the "big bang" theory that has flaws, or just unanswered questions.
