Go back to court and get the visitation cancelled. At 14, the judge will almost always do what the children want.

As a parent you need to do whats right. Support has nothing to do with visitation. 2 separate issues and the courts view it as such. However, you need to consult a lawyer with that question in your state/location. By letting the child decide, you leave yourself open for a contempt of court charge. You have a legal obligation to enforce the visitation... whether she wants to or not. A lawyer will be able to petition the court for a change in the ordered visitation. Until it's been modified....make her go.

You have to take her until the judge says she doesn't have to go. Try talking to her dad about it and maybe you can work something out with him. You'll have to set a court date and let your daughter make the decision. She is old enough to decide who she lives with and the judge should consider that.

i am 14 and i don't want to visit my dad because he doesn't work and/or support his 5 kids (which includes me) at all.
I think that it would be best to have a gift that you brought and say that it is from the child's father and maybe she/he will respect him just a tad bit more and tell the kid that their father can be a good man and father when he wants to be and that time can be now and maybe it will change her perspective of him.

Any judge in his right mind will say she is old enough to make-up her own mind. Let her decide what she wants to do. Let her tell her Dad herself too. That is exactly what my 13 year old daughter did. Good Luck!
