Dealing with suicide????

I have had this on my plate for a while, my mom killed herself and I want to know what I can do to help get myself through it.

I am so sorry to hear of your devastating loss. I cannot imagine the pain you are going through, but I do suggest counseling with a medical professional. I lost my mom due to natural causes when I was 14, and it left me with some serious emotional problems. I sought psychiatric counseling to deal with my grief, and it was the best thing I could have done. It didn't stop the hurting, but made me understand my grief, and anger, allowing me to cope with my loss much easier. If you are unable to get medical assistance, then I would suggest speaking to your family, friends, or even a member of clergy. There is strength to be found in loved ones, and faith, so do not hesitate to talk to someone. This is part of the healing process, and it is best not to go through this alone. My thoughts, and prayers are with you during this difficult time.

My son who is 16 years old just lost his best friend of suicide. I don't think there is an easy fix but I know therapy or even a good friend to express your feeling to helps a lot and most of all you can not blame anyone for your mothers choice. Dealing with suicide is worse than if they would have been killed in a car wreck because at least you know why they died in which suicide you always say "why" and who is to blame.

Are there any other relatives that you can talk to? That would be a start. If you can, go talk to a therapist. They are trained and they can help you get through it. I am sorry that you are coping with something that serious. Take care.
