I live in Morro Bay, CA and my satellite provider says I can’t get local channels in HD (FOX, CBS, NBC, ABC) in my area. I have heard that indoor HD antennas can pickup these local channels in HD depending on your area. Does anyone know a good HD antenna that would work in my area?

There is no such thing as an HDTV antenna. All antennas will work with both digital and analog TV. I doubt if you can get reception in Morro Bay with an indoor antenna. You will probably have to put up an outside antenna. To find out what you may need, go to this site

The satellite providers are adding local HD channels to many areas. I would expect your area to be added soon. It depends whether you are on Dish or DirecTV, DirecTV will need a new satellite dish, multiswitch and receiver to get the local channels.

HD antennas are actually amplified antennas in disguise. You could even use one with no amplifier and still pick up HD. Just get any pair of rabbit ears and you'll be fine. Doesn't work? get an antenna amplifier and try that

P.S. Rabbit ears is a well known name for a VHF antenna
