Most misused are your, in place of you're and there in place of they're.
I just don't understand how people get them wrong.
If people read more books they would learn proper spelling and grammar.

That's opening too big of a can of worms there. I've noticed so many misspelled words on here that I really have to wonder and worry about education these days!

THE WORST OF THEM ALL & THE ONE WHICH ENRAGES ME CONSTANTLY IS HOW ALL THE YOUNG IGNORANT USERS GIVE A NOUN SPELLED IN THE PLURAL WITH AN APOSTROPHE BEFORE THE "S" WHEREAS ALL THAT IT NEEDS IS A SIMPLE "S" ADDED & NOTHING MORE !!!!
YESTERDAY SOME GIRL SAID TO COMPARE AMERICAN'S AND CANADIAN'S - SHE WAS SO IGNORANT ABOUT THE FALSE AND UNGRAMMATICAL APOSTROPHE.
AND I SEE THIS DAILY - AT STORES, AND EVERYWHERE i GO IN THE STREET IN DAILY LIFE.
IT'S DISGUSTING !!! AND WHO STARTED THIS ERROR & WHEN & WHY????? i NEVER SAW IT GROWING UP IN MY YOUTH.
pLEASE RATE MY ANSWER & THINK ABOUT WHAT I SAID !!!!

it's more than a case of misspelling words! It's a case of bad grammar. Examples:
I went to there house. (there instead of their)
There crazy in my school. (there instead of they're)
Your crazy! (your instead of you're...this one makes me want to run someone over!)
you need to have patients. (patients instead of patience. what is she, a doctor!?)
argh! it's all about the grammar.

"A lot" drives me bonkers. It's two words people. Also when people use words incorrectly (like there instead of their, to instead of too).
