When I go to Hawaii, will I get a lei right when I get off the plane?

If you book your trip with Pleasant Holidays, the lei greeting is
included in the price. As soon as you disembark from the plane and get to the unsecured area of the airport before the baggage claim section, the representative is there with an armload of flower leis. She will even kiss you on the cheek if she feels inclined. Pleasant used to give you shell leis when you leave the islands but not anymore.

However, if you book your flight and hotel directly,
you will not be given the lei greeting. You might want to arrange to get the lei greeting by purchasing them beforehand and letting them know when you'll be arriving. I think
the cheapest ones cost about $15 each. Google it or check out http://www.gohawaii.com for links to this service.

(On the other hand, if you go to Tahiti or other more exotic locations, the hotels there will be there to greet you with a big ol' lei and an entire folk music ensemble singing island songs. Quite an experience.)

Actually it depends. If you go and get picked up by a hotel or resort they do still give out leis.

If you go and you just go to a rental car or public bus, they do not. It is something that the hotels do to get you in the groove.

My wife and little boy always have one for me when I come home. I love them so much.

If you are traveling with someone special. You should arrange for it as a surprise. People love it and it makes your hotel room smell like tropical flowers.
