Regular curlers can be put in wet or dry hair. If you put them in wet hair, you want to make sure your hair is completely dry when you go to take them out (so wear them overnight if you can stand it); if you don't your hair will probably get frizzy. Make sure you use a setting lotion or light gel to hold the curls.
If you want to put them in when they're dry, you'll need to use a thermal styler spray to hold the style (I love Aqage Beyond Body Thermal Styler). Spray the sections just before you roll them until they're slightly damp. Leave the curlers in for at least 20 min., longer if your hair still feels damp.
In either case, flip your head upside down and spray with a med. hold hairspray after removing the curlers, and lightly shake the curls out with your fingers. Finish up with a final spritz of hair spray and you should be all set.

If you're using velcro or foam rollers you can do it either wet or dry. Depends on how much time you have.
If you're a normal woman who doesn't have all day to wait for her hair to air dry in curlers, dry hair 80% and then roll, and follow with a quick dry with a blow dryer on low speed, high heat, then let the hair cool while in the rollers. This will set the style and give you lots of bounce, volume, and curl - depending on the size of the rollers.
I usually dry my hair straight, then put large velcro rollers in to give me volume - or small rollers to give me curl. I will go over with a blow-dryer and follow with some hairspray. I then let it cool while I put on my make-up. Right before I'm leaving the house, I pull the rollers out, finger curls, and poof - beautiful bounce!
Good luck!

it particularly relies upon on how long you will desire to get your hair curly, in case you have all day, then you definitely would desire to make effective your hair is moist/damp then you definitely would desire to positioned extremely mousse on your hair. then put in the curlers. to make your hair dry quicker you may gently use a blow dryer against your hair, at the same time as the curlers are nevertheless in. positioned the hairspray in final by way of fact it is going to hold the curls, yet do no longer over do it or your curls would have a pretty undesirable texture.

Your hair should be wet, otherwise the curl will not stay. It might also help to use a mousse or setting lotion before you put the curlers in to help the curl stay longer.

If your hair is naturally straight, then you can put them in while it is wet or dry (Preferably the velcro ones, they hold better).
If your hair is naturally curly, you need to wet the hair, use a moisturizer, and then roll the hair (velcro's great), and allow to air dry (or even use a dome dryer). the curls set better this way. Never curl curls dry....they will become frizzy!
Hope that helps!

You can use them in wet on dry hair. It just depends on what you are trying to do.

Both, wet set is better because it holds the curls longer and the curls are crispier, and shiny. Much more body.
